Little Girl Lost: The Kathy Fiscus Tragedy
March 30, Mon., 7:30 p.m.
In the spring of 1949, a little girl fell into a well while playing near her home in San Marino. The ultimately unsuccessful rescue attempt captured the nation’s attention. William Deverell, director of the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West, will examine the event from the vantage point of history and offer some thoughts as to why it garnered such remarkable attention. Free. No reservations required. Friends’ Hall.
