The Institute for the Study of the American West at the Autry National Center seeks applicants for the Butcher Scholar Award. The Center welcomes applications for innovative projects that promise to deepen our understanding of the history of diverse women in the historical and contemporary West. The Center is especially interested in funding projects with relevance to the Center’s collections and mission.
The stipend will be up to $5,000, depending on the scope of the project. Residence at the Autry National Center is not required. Deadline for proposals is March 27, 2009. Applicants are asked to submit project proposals that include a three-page project description, two-page CV, and two letters of recommendation.
